Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is coming to cinemas this month, making it the fifth, sixth or maybe eighth movie in the franchise. I don’t know, I lost track.
As expected, this means the PR machine has gone into double overdrive, dropping trailers, posters, hints and merch wherever it gets the chance. Yesterday un unlikely member of the cast was revealed, none other than Paul McCartney. Yarrr.
Non-threatening and very nonchalant, Paul McCartney may have not been the best choice as a new character in Pirates of the Caribbean.
If you got as far into the franchise as Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End you would have seen Keith Richards take to the silver screen as Captain Teague. Now that’s a pirate; someone with lines in their face so deep it looks as if they were carved by cutlass.
Not to mention, Richards was a huge inspiration to Johnny Depp’s character Jack Sparrow.
Meanwhile here’s Sir Paul:

Not that he doesn’t look great – that costume is tight. But I can’t say I’m quivering in my boots. His look isn’t that of a no-good swashbuckler, it’s that of a British statesman who just saw you pour milk into the cup before tea.
