Where to watch WorldPride and First & Forever in Australia for free

ABC TV will air a special on the recent First & Forever festival this week, followed by multiple specials on Sydney WorldPride 2023.

The ABC have announced forthcoming specials on two national events – the latest First & Forever festival which took place in November, as well as the upcoming Sydney WorldPride festival, running from February 17 to March 5 in 2023.

Scheduled for release on ABC iView this Thursday (December 15), before airing on ABC TV next Thursday (December 22) at 8:30pm, the special on First & Forever festival will comprise recordings of live performances and backstage interviews, featuring Thelma Plum, Baker Boy, King Stingray, Budjerah, and other artists.

In addition to the ABC’s release, triple j will also air a follow-up program on the First & Forever festival of 2022 at 5:00pm this Sunday (December 18). An official statement reads: “If you missed out, we come to you with great news. We’ll be taking you front row with a special broadcast on ABC iview, ABC TV and on triple j’s Blak Out!”

Meanwhile, Sydney WorldPride 2023 will get a number of specials, broadcasted between February and March. Among them will be the airing of its opening concert, “Live And Proud” which is set to feature a slew of acts including Charli XCX, Kylie Minogue and Jessica Mauboy.

As per the network, “The ABC is proud to be the host broadcaster of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras and Sydney WorldPride, having always championed on-screen representation of the LGBTQIA+ community in Australia, including being the first broadcaster to televise the Mardi Gras parade in 1994.” For more details on the First & Forever festival broadcast, click here.
