Wrestling has gone hand-in-hand with video games since the 8-bit glory days of the ’80s and ’90s. The long-standing tradition continues in September with the release of WWE 2K Battlegrounds.
There’s nothing subtle about this brawler that has its heart in the arcade era. According to 2K, there’ll be, “…a roster of more than 70 WWE Superstars and Legends at launch, with even more Superstars entering the Battlegrounds after release.”
Hit the ropes with WWE 2K Battlegrounds this September. This cross-platform brawler will see you launching campaigns and fighting to be the last wrestler standing.
There are four different playing modes to dive into. In Exhibition mode, you can play in solo mode, with multiplayer action for up to four wrestlers, locally or online. In Campaign mode, you go a little deeper into the world of Pro-Wrestling, battling among seven prospects to land a contract with the WWE.
King of the Battleground will pit you against the best wrestlers online, starting with four wrestlers in the ring and four outside: a quest to find out who will be the last man or woman standing. In Online mode, you can brawl all over the world in tournaments and Exhibition fights.
You’ll have to wait till September 18 for the release on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch and Google Stadia. Visit 2K for more information.
