Five-piece indie outfit Young Robin have earned their place in the Perth music scene, showcasing incredible songwriting skills, an electrifying stage presence and unmissable natural chemistry as a band.
It seems that Young Robin have outdone themselves with the release of their new single Tropical Punch. It’s an irrepressible and bubbly track which makes you feel as though you’re in the midst of a carefree calypso summer.
Tropical Punch lives up to its name with a blissful rhythm, warm vocals and breezy guitar lines spreading irresistibly merry vibes. Prepare to feel all the good feelings.
Tropical Punch is the follow-up single to jaunty track Spaces which displayed the band’s ability to thoughtfully craft songs. It’s clear that Young Robin is already connecting deeply with local audiences, but this effervescent track demonstrates that the band is ready for much, much more.
What stands out about this track, and others by Young Robin is the unique rhythms bound to create movement, reminiscent of bands like Jinja Safari and San Cisco. Radiating optimism through both their sound and lyrics, Tropical Punch focuses on helping someone find the light at the end of the tunnel – even when it is nowhere to be seen.
It’s not surprising that the band’s lyrics, combined with a sense of youthful energy, is making a massive impact on the all-ages live music scene. To date Young Robin have performed at high profile events such as 2019’s Collision Festival and Joondalup Festival, as well as being invited to perform the WAM Weekender multiple times.
In the wake of Tropical Punch the band will be getting busy with a heavy touring schedule. It appears that Young Robin has an adventure ahead of them and Tropical Punch is a track that makes you want to come along for the ride.
