25 years of Definitely Maybe: Oasis release limited edition re-issue

Oasis have announced a collector’s limited edition vinyl of their breakthrough album Definitely Maybe.

The re-issue is in celebration of the album’s 25th anniversary, originally released on the 29th of August 1994 by Creation Records.

Oasis are releasing a limited edition vinyl to celebrate 25 years of Definitely Maybe, the album which put them on the map.

Definitely Maybe was the fastest-selling debut album in the UK and includes the acclaimed singles, SupersonicShakermaker, Live Forever and Cigarettes And Alcohol.

The album has been credited with being a pioneering moment of the 90s Britpop scene and has been widely revered as the greatest album of all time, praised by critics at the time for its more optimistic sensibility in contrast to the grunge movement prominent in the US.

At the time of its release Noel Gallagher fittingly described, “In 20 years’ time, people will buy ‘Definitely Maybe’ and listen to it for what it was. That’s what is important.”

Oasis have released a trailer for the anniversary and will be sharing content from the time in celebration. The re-issue will feature a double picture disc to be released on the 30th of August.

You can pre-order the vinyl here.
