Fame isn’t all it’s cracked up to be: Blondie’s Debbie Harry reveals the truth about drugs and stalker ex-boyfriends

The legendary front-woman of Blondie, Debbie Harry, has come clean about her history with stalkers and drug use.

In the 80s, around the release of Heart of Glass, was when her drug addiction sparked, confessing in a recent interview she lived with a two-year heroin addiction.

Harry reportedly tried every illicit drug she knew throughout the 80s, around the time Heart of Glass was released.

Confessing in recent Vice interview, the rock-and-roll icon stated she had some crazy ex-boyfriends who just didn’t quite accept the break-up.

“I’ve had a couple of ex-boyfriends who didn’t understand the ‘ex'”, Harry stated, “and that was problematic”

Surprisingly, there were no instances involving any overly-loving fans, apart from one who wrote to Harry enough times to fill up multiple shopping bags.

During Harry’s interview, when asked if she thought drugs made her happy, she responded with, “Well, I think you’d have to be more specific about what drugs. If you’re on some kind of medication that’s prescribed for you, and it’s for some kind of a neurological thing, I think that they can help you. If you’re a partying fool and you’re just trying things, that can be fun for a while, right? But dependency on an illegal substance outlives the fun thing really quickly; it gets to be a real drag.”

After just wrapping up a cracker of tour in Australia and New Zealand in April, Blondie has just released 11th studio album Pollinator with credits from Sia, The Stroke’s guitarist Albert Hammond Jr, Charli XCX and Johnny Marr.
