Following his passing in November last year, legendary AC/DC rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young will be honoured by Gretsch Guitars this year with the release of a new signature axe.
With two removed pickups and a stripped finish, the new G6131-MY Malcolm Young Signature Jet will look to recreate each detail of Young’s iconic Gretsch Jet.
Legendary AC/DC rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young is set to be honoured, as Gretsch recreate his iconic Jet guitar with a new signature axe.
“The Malcolm Young ‘Salute’ Jet is a meticulously crafted Gretsch Custom Shop recreation accurate down to every last nick, scratch and dent acquired over Young’s long and raucously illustrious career,” Gretsch say.
The new guitar will capture many of the banged-up quirks of Young’s guitar, featuring “DIY” pickup routes with simulated screw holes, chrome switch plugs, double-cutaway chambered mahogany body with maple top, and aged-white binding.
Young passed away late last year, aged 64, following a lengthy battle with dementia.
