Having spent the past number of years writing and composing songs for other artists, Elkjer has now gone out on his own. With the release of his debut solo EP Scenes, he has immediately established himself as an emerging artist to watch.
Marcus Elkjer’s debut solo EP Scenes is a boundless slice of neo-classical wonder that’s guaranteed to leave you feeling hypnotised.
The new EP sees Elkjer weave together elements of electronica, pop and classical to craft a sound uniquely his own. With boundless sonic arrangements, each track on Scenes feels as though it exists in a world of its own. His music is equal parts sparse and rich; it balances gracefully between power and delicacy.
“Scenes is a sonic journey into my subconscious. An accompaniment of the dreams I have,” Elkjer says of the EP.
“The songs encapsulate different scenes of a movie that has never been made but only exists in my mind. My hope is to make the listener connect with the sonic journey and possibly become part of it oneself.”
These are still early days for Marcus Elkjer as a solo artist, but judging by what we’ve heard so far, I think we can safely expect plenty more quality tunes.
