Just under a week out from Falls Festival kicking off, the Marion Bay edition of the festival has lost a major international act: ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic.
The renowned satirist and musical comedian blamed “unforeseen logistical difficulties by the festival’s production in arranging for our show” for the cancellation, taking to his Facebook to inform fans.
Read the full statement:
“TASMANIA: We’re extremely sorry to announce that, due to unforeseen logistical difficulties by the festival’s production in arranging for our show to come to Marion Bay on Dec. 29, the date has unfortunately had to be canceled.
My Lorne and Byron Bay Falls dates and my Busselton Southbound date will all remain as scheduled.
Again, I’m really sorry, Tasmania. If there was any possible way for me to still do the show, I’d dearly love to – but they’re telling me now that there’s not. Hopefully I’ll get to come there again sometime in the near future.”
Falls Festival will be taking place from December 28th – January 1st in Lorne, December 29th – January 1st in Byron Bay and December 31st to January 3rd in Byron Bay. Tickets are still on sale for the latter two.
