Squid Game actor, Lee Jung-Jae has been cast in an upcoming Star Wars TV series, The Acolyte, which is set to premiere in 2023.
Lee Jung-Jae, known for his role in the hit Netflix series, Squid Game has joined the cast of the upcoming Disney+ Star Wars TV show, The Acolyte, which is slated for release on August 11 of 2023. The renowned South Korean actor will be starring alongside Amandla Stenberg and Jodie Turner-Smith.
According to Deadline, the forthcoming series has been dubbed a “mystery-thriller,” which is “set 100 years before the events of Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace.” The publication also names Leslye Headland as the writer, director and executive-producer of the show, in collaboration with Lucasfilm.
Headland is a widely-celebrated talent, known for her role in writing and directing Russian Doll; an award-winning Netflix comedy-drama program, among other projects.
