Noel Gallagher, the iconic guitarist of Oasis, recently sat down for an in-depth interview where he delved into his love for guitars, amps, and pedals.
In the interview conducted by That Pedal Show’s Mick and Dan at his Lone Star studio, Noel Gallagher showcased the guitars he used to write Oasis’s biggest hits, some of which were gifted by Johnny Marr.
But it wasn’t just about the gear; Gallagher also revealed his humble habits, such as his affinity for presets and his reluctance to mess with pedal settings.
He expressed admiration for the craftsmanship behind presets, acknowledging the hard work put into creating specific sounds.
Interestingly, he confessed to “nicking” other people’s settings, confessing that he loves to study what others are doing with their gear. He shared instances where he surreptitiously obtained settings from guitar legends like Pete Townshend and Neil Young.
Gallagher emphasized that he’s more focused on his songwriting and has entrusted sound design to others, stating, “I write, that’s what I do. I’m not slaving away worrying about it anymore – I just get someone else to.”
While his love for his craft and gear was evident, the subject of an Oasis reunion also emerged.
Gallagher issued a public challenge to his brother Liam, daring him to call him and discuss a potential reunion. Noel expressed skepticism, believing that Liam doesn’t truly want a reunion and neither of them is particularly interested in it.
Despite Liam’s persistent tweets about it, he called him out to take action and stop hiding behind social media. As of now, Liam Gallagher has yet to respond to Noel’s challenge.
The interview provided fans with an intimate glimpse into Noel Gallagher’s passion for music and his unapologetic approach to his craft.
As he continues to write and explore new musical territories, the possibility of an Oasis reunion remains uncertain, leaving fans eagerly awaiting the next chapter in the Gallagher brothers’ story.
