Aussie Music Legends and Fresh Faces Collide for AMP Shortlist

The SoundMerch Australian Music Prize (AMP) has unveiled its shortlist for 2023, and it’s a doozy.

The Australian Music Prize (AMP) unveils its 19th Shortlist, showcasing the raw talent and genre-bending brilliance that Australia’s music scene has to offer.

This year’s nominees represent the crème de la crème of Aussie music, from experimental trailblazers to pop icons.

Selected from a mind-blowing 450+ album releases, the shortlist was meticulously crafted by a panel of industry veterans, ensuring that only the most groundbreaking and eargasmic works made the cut.

The winner of the coveted AMP will walk away with a cool $30K, courtesy of independent Australian merchandising company SoundMerch. Genesis Owusu returns to the Shortlist following his 2021 win (Smiling with No Teeth) as does previously nominated artist, Jen Cloher (2013 & 2017).
