Anthony Albanese’s girlfriend Jodie Haydon dishes about their relationship

Albo’s girlfriend of two years, Jodie Haydon finally broke her media silence and spoke with 7NEWS Spotlight about the relationship.

In her first-ever TV interview, Jodie Haydon revealed the moment she knew she was in love with the now-Prime Minister of Australia.

Albo welcomed cameras into his home on Sunday night to properly introduce the country to his ‘secret weapon’ (his gf, how cute!) and gave unprecedented access to his life.

Jodie told 7News Spotlight the moment she knew she loved Albo was soon after he had been in a serious car crash.

The incident happened in January 2021 when Jodie and Albo hadn’t even been together for a year yet.

Tony’s car was reportedly wiped out by a Range Rover driven by a P-plater just meters away from his home in Sydney’s inner-west. The then-Opposition Leader was rushed to hospital.

Jodie explained how she felt at the time:When I got to the accident and I saw the car before I saw Anthony, and I remember thinking at the time, ‘this can’t end well’”

“And that overwhelming sense of ‘what if I lose him?’ And I knew then that, yeah, I love him. And I love him deeply.”

Albo was shown the footage of Jodie gushing over her man, to which he responded by saying:She is an amazing woman,”

When the interviewer asked the PM if it was love he said, “Yes, I am very lucky.”

As if these two cuties could get more candid and real, they also spoke about their encounter meeting with the French president and his wife, Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron.

Jodie spoke about how she immediately bonded with the French president’s wife, “I was fortunate enough to have met a couple of days earlier when we were in Madrid and from the moment I met her, she was so warm and friendly and took my hand and said so nice to meet you. Straight away I felt comfortable with her,”

She also spoke about when President Macron famously took her hand.

“It is very French. Anthony doesn’t do that, I might have to have a word to him about it! They were both wonderful,” Jodie laughed.

The interview also included footage of the PM on the prime ministerial jet which was a TV first.

Aussies are loving the authenticity this pair is bringing us with one Twitter user calling Jodie “delightful, charming, intelligent and just so likeable.”
