Anthony Albanese fires back at ‘Airbus Albo’ criticism on Twitter

Aussie PM Albo is copping hate for being overseas during the current NSW flooding crisis, with #AirbusAlbo trending on Twitter.

Amid the ongoing flooding crisis in NSW, hoards of Aussies have flocked to Twitter; critiquing Albo for being overseas during this developing situation. Reportedly, the PM has spent 14 out of his 42 days in office thus far overseas. Many have taken issue with this; expressing their disagreement under the trending hashtags #AirbusAlbo and #WheresAlbo on Twitter.

Since last Sunday, Albo has been on a number of official trips; first to the NATO leaders’ summit in Spain, then to Paris for a meeting with President Emmanuel Macron, and then a max-security trip to Ukraine to meet President Volodymyr Zelensky.

According to the prime minister, he was only just able to turn his phone back on yesterday morning. For security reasons, it was switched off throughout his time in war-torn Kyiv, meeting Zelensky. Now that he’s back online, Albo has addressed the situation via a series of messages posted on Twitter.

“Have crossed into Poland from Ukraine and left radio silence. My first actions were briefings by @murraywatt and @Dom_Perrottet on NSW flooding and ensuring Federal Government assistance is being provided,” he wrote.

He later added,It’s a constantly changing situation. Check @NSWSES and @BOM_NSW for the latest advice and please stay safe.” Here’s hoping they’ve installed fire safe doors when this bull comes out of the stable!
