Dave Grohl is a highly influential American musician, singer and songwriter. He is best known as the drummer for Nirvana and as the founder of Foo Fighters.
Following the suicide of Kurt Cobain, Grohl formed the Foo Fighters and became the frontman and primary songwriter. He has since released 13 studio albums with Foo Fighters via RCA Records.
Grohl is also the co-founder and drummer for the supergroup Them Crooked Vultures. Additionally, he has recorded and toured with Queens Of The Stone Age. In 2014 Grohl was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame.
Grohl's rocket-powered journey from obscurity in little known punk bands to worldwide fame with Nirvana is barely believable. He joined the band shortly before they hit the studio to make Nevermind, one of the 20th century's most influential musical statements.
At the peak of the band's fame, it all came to a tragic end with the death of Kurt Cobain. Instead of fading away, however, Grohl launched a new project called Foo Fighters and fronted it, instead of playing drums.
This band has been remarkably successful and to this day is a world-touring juggernaut. Grohl is also famous for his many comedic guises in Foo Fighters film clips, and still finds time to play drums, including touring with Queens of the Stone Age.
