Aussie rock legend Jimmy Barnes has taken to Twitter to publicly thank the staff at St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney after he was rushed to the emergency room on Monday night. Once discharged and well, Barnes uploaded a video dedicating a classic Beatles track to doctors, nurses, and his wife.
“I had an unexpected visit to St Vincent’s emergency last night, non-COVID related by the way. But we were well looked after by our mates, doctors, nurses and staff at St Vinnies.” Barnes stated in the clip. “I was with my best friend (Jane Barnes). I got by with a little help from her”.

There’s a statue that needs making. Not you Jim! Bloody Jane! Tough as nails and kind to old marsupials like yourself. Peace and love to you, Jane and allll the Tin Lids.

David Campbell, Barnes’ son issued a quick statement about the incident this morning on The Today Show, stating that his dad had a stomach bug that turned bad, but luckily he was in and out of hospital within a few hours.
“I didn’t even know until I saw his Instagram post, but thanks everybody for your messages. He sends his love”.
This follows recent news of Barnes being added to the star-studded Bluesfest 2021 lineup, giving us something to look forward to.
