Back to the Future co-stars embraced on stage on Saturday and brought audience members to their feet in an emotional and overwhelming ovation.
Back to the Future’s Marty McFly and Doc Brown, have inspired popular culture unlike anything else, the countless references, and parodies in tv shows, The Big Bang Theory, American Dad, Family Guy, Fringe, and Supernatural, just to name a few.
Not to mention we literally wouldn’t have Rick and Morty without them. Creator Justin Roiland conceived The Real Animated Adventures of Doc and Mharti, a parody of Back to the Future, which went on to become Rick and Morty as we know it.
Small-town teen, Marty McFly’s (Michael J. Fox) journey back to the ’50s to help his scientist buddy Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd) when his experiment goes wrong, is hands down one of the best science fiction movies in history. The 1985 film and subsequent BTTF franchise have gone on to become classics.
Delighting fans, Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd reunited Saturday onstage, during a Back to the Future panel at New York Comic Con. The co-star’s hug received mega applause from the fans.
During an in-depth discussion about the franchise, in particular the first film, Michael shared “You guys have given me my whole life,” also commenting on his Parkinson’s “The best thing that happened in my life was this thing. Parkinson’s is a gift. I’ve said to people it’s a gift and they say, ‘You’re nuts.’ I say, ‘Yeah, but it’s the gift that keeps on taking.’ But it’s a gift and I wouldn’t change it for anything … It’s not about what I have, it’s about what I’ve been given.”
I’m not crying…you are
