Bendigo Autumn Music Festival add more acts to their insane inaugural lineup

The inaugural Bendigo Autumn Music Festival just got bigger and better with a massive second lineup drop this morning.

Joining the likes of Kurt Vile and the Violators, Cash Savage and the Last Drinks and Tiny Ruins is Australian hit-maker Mojo Juju, who recently released Native Tongue, one of the most exciting albums of 2018.

The inaugural Bendigo Autumn Music Festival will play host to a wide array of local and international talent right in the heart of Victoria.

Tex Perkins, of The Cruel Sea and Beasts of Bourbon fame, has collaborated with Matt Walker to bring audiences a new sound with Tex Perkins and The Fat Rubber Band. The band will present an exploration into blues swamp-groove sounds, with a few Cruel Sea covers thrown in as part of the setlist.

South African guitar savant Sibusile Xaba will bring his eclectic blend of Zulu folk, bossa nova, flamenco, desert blues and jazz to Bendigo Autumn Music Festival.

Former The Go Between’s members Lindy Morrison, Amanda Brown and John Willsteed will reunite to pay tribute to their magnum opus 16 Lovers Lane. The tribute will also feature Dave Graney, Clare Moore, Rob Snarski, Alex Gow (Oh Mercy), Katie Noonan, Emily Lubitz (Tinpan Orange) and Laura Jean.

As well as performing in the 16 Lovers Lane tribute, Katie Noonan will be presenting Gratitude and Grief, a collaboration between Noonan’s jazz trio Elixir and acclaimed Australian artist and poet Michael Leunig.

Producer, performer and co-host of SBS’s Rockwiz Brian Nankervis will be heading to BAM to host a series of On The Couch sessions with a curated selection of artists from the festival’s massive lineup

Recently rediscovered American ’70s singer-songwriter Van Duren, whose story is not dissimilar from Rodriguez’, will be playing BAM as part of his debut Australian tour.

1960s chic tropical-jungle-late-night-Balkan boogie band Tek Tek Ensemble will be performing, as will Cool Out Sun – the supergroup featuring N’fa Jones (1200 Techniques, House of Beige, Sensible J (REMI, House of Beige), Lamine Sonko and Nui Moon (Digital Afrika).

Bendigo Autumn Music Festival will also play host to a range of local performers, including The Sugarcanes, Black Orchid Stringband and Steve Lane and the Autocrats, amongst many others.
