Celebrate Cobra Club’s final gig in Newtown with The Laurels

Newtown is losing its beloved free live music residency, Cobra Club, but it won’t go anywhere without a bang.

The final CCXO at The Bank Hotel will be held next Tuesday, the 30th of July, featuring The Laurels supported by dark dream-pop duo Lorelei.

Our beloved Cobra Club is leaving The Bank, so come and celebrate the final free live music Tuesday with the Laurels.

CCXO has been known for showcasing the best up-and-coming bands every Tuesday at Waywards since 2017. Providing an accessible space for your favourite local artists, the night has steadily earned itself a willing and loyal crowd. Luckily it’s not gone forever, as their events have been popping up at the Kings Cross Hotel’s rooftop bar.

For a fitting last bash, neo-psychedelic band The Laurels will take it home. Based in Sydney’s inner west, they’ve recently headlined Bad Vibrations festival and toured alongside Tame Impala and The Brian Jonestown Massacre.

This gig follows the recent release of their brand new single, Sound System from their upcoming third album. This track is also the debut for new band member on bass and vocals, Kat Hurley.

Do not miss this epic farewell to a legendary Newtown night, so head down to Waywards at The Bank next Tuesday for a dose of free live music from 7pm.
