Demi Lovato is an ambassador for spirituality platform Gaia

Demi Lovato is officially an ambassador for a controversial spirituality platform, exploring perilous and hateful conspiracy theories.

The famous actor and performer took to Instagram last week announcing their partnership with spirituality platform, Gaia.

The platform is self-described as the “Netflix of spirituality” and have spoken out in regard to the newfound partnership.

“Gaia believes the fanbase Lovato continues to cultivate has a desire to dig deeper into the more important questions regarding the nature of reality.”

Although the app and platform promote yoga and meditation, more “questionable” topics and conspiracies include: “big pharma”, “aliens”, “chemtrails”, “the secret space program” and “forbidden science”.

It is not uncommon for a celebrity to align themselves with wellness platforms including yoga and meditation. However, upon inspection, it is obvious that the platform directly links to conspiracy theory material.

“I am excited to be one of Gaia’s first celebrity ambassadors and honoured to join a platform I have been a fan of for some time,” Lovato says on the Gaia page.

Their dedicated page also includes episodes of Deep Space; Ancient Space Program or Psychedelica; Psychedelics and Consciousness.

Lovato’s linked “favourites” on the platform consist of videos about UFO denial conspiracies, sacred numbers, Area 51, and ancient civilisations.

Delving deeper into their “handpicked favourites”, Lovato takes a liking to a video series on the city of Atlantis being a real destination.

The video shows the Atlantis civilisation surviving in the aftermath of a war between the giants and reptilians, or as we call them…lizard people.

Lovato has revealed in the past that she is a “UFO experiencer”, so the move to support the platform is not a complete shock.

More recently they noted that aliens is a derogatory term and explained how to communicate with extra-terrestrials.

Although Gaia is something easy enough to laugh off, it is critical to note that the platform has over 750,000 members and displays controversial material to impressionable viewers.
