Dweezil Zappa is bringing the ‘Hot Rats Live Tour’ to Australia in 2020

Dweezil Zappa has just announced that his ‘Hot Rats Live Tour’ is coming to Australia in April 2020, adding to next year’s irresistible array of Bluesfest sideshows.

Byron Bay’s world-famous Bluesfest have blessed us with an unmissable lineup of iconic music legends for 2020. Now, with the announcement of more Bluesfest sideshows, including Dweezil Zappa, the hype is real.

As the son of Frank Zappa, it was inevitable from the moment he was born that Dweezil Zappa was going to be a musician and now he is bringing his iconic ‘Hot Rats’ tour to Australia this April.

In celebration of 50 years since the album’s release, the tour will feature a performance of the entirety of Frank Zappa’s 1969 album, as well as more classics.

The unmissable tour will see dates in Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, and Melbourne. Dweezil has long undertaken a mission to re-acquaint the world with the sights and sounds of his infamous father and the incredibly talented group of musicians give Frank’s music new life in a fresh and vibrant context while keeping true to Frank Zappa  unique and faultless sonic creations.

The Hot Rats album played a significant role in establishing Frank Zappa as a composer and guitarist and was also dedicated to the newborn Dweezil upon its release in 1969, making the performance even more special.

Talking about the tour, Dweezil said “this is the best version of the band I have ever had. The musicians are able to tackle the hardest instrumental passages and cover a limitless range of vocals”.

Be sure to get to one of these sideshows for what is set to be an unforgettable show.
