Ed Hawke delivers a soulful slice of listening bliss on Day By Day

Hailing from Melbourne, smooth sailing singer-songwriter Ed Hawke has released his second single for 2019, Day By Day.

The song is bouncy and kinetic in nature, with Hawke’s silky and soulful vocals the hero throughout the piece alongside meaningful instrumental undertones.

Day By Day, the latest single from Melbourne singer-songwriter Ed Hawke is blissful and smooth sailing, with delicate instrumentation and raw vocals.

Learning guitar and singing at the ripe age of thirteen, Hawke’s musical journey has just kept getting better and better. With funky and infectious guitar melodies, the influence of the roots genre on his music is apparent, alongside subtle pop undertones with nods to artists such as Rex Orange County.

Day By Day was written, recorded and produced at his home in Melbourne alongside all his other songs, as it holds an important place in his heart.

Speaking about the song, Hawke shared:

“My favourite part of the whole process is seeing the look on people’s faces and in their eyes when you know they are understanding what you are saying. You can kind of lock in to each other in that moment, and it feels bigger than just a song.”

The single follows the 2018 release of his debut album Learning How To Fall as well as his first single for this year, In The Air (featuring Julia Marie).

Although it’s only early days for Ed Hawke, we have a feeling he’s definitely one to watch. We can’t wait to see what’s next!
