Ed Sheeran performs first U.S. show in four years at F1 in Austin

Ed Sheeran performed to a sold-out crowd at the Formula One Grand Prix over the weekend: “This is my first show in America in four years.”

Ed Sheeran gave a noteworthy performance to a packed-out audience at the Formula One U.S. Grand Prix on Saturday night (October 22) in Austin, Texas. While on stage, the Shape of You hitmaker declared, “this is my first show in America in four years.”

Punk rock collective, Green Day also put on a show for the crowd, with frontman Billie Joe Armstrong announcing, “this is our last show for a long time.” He added that the band saved “the best for the best state.”

Appearing trackside the following day to watch the F1 races, Ed Sheeran reflected on his concert experience whilst speaking with Sky Sports presenter, Martin Brundle, “It’s fun, innit…a new experience.” 

Overall, the 2022 Formula One U.S. Grand Prix weekend was an epic success, with a record-breaking 440,000 people in attendance.
