Elon Musk and Grimes have reportedly named their child ‘X Æ A-12’

UPDATE: Grimes has now provided some explanation behind the name, scroll down to see her Tweet.

The day is here. Since cryptically announcing her pregnancy back in January, the world has been waiting for the day that Grimes and Elon Musk’s unearthly child would be brought into this world. The time has finally come.

Would their child descend from an orb of light? Would they have gills? Would they be hatched inside a Tesla? Don’t worry, mini-Musk is a perfectly healthy, and totally normal, baby boy. Everybody, meet *checks notes* X Æ A-12.

The son of Tesla boss Elon “EDM” Musk and the wholesomely extraterrestrial Grimes has reportedly been named ‘X Æ A-12’. But is anyone really surprised?

Musk showed off his bundle of joy on Twitter late last night, posting a picture of the pair still at the hospital. When a fan asked the obvious question “what’s he called?”, Musky replied with a name rivalled only by the nuclear missile codes, or maybe the formula for blu-tack. Considering how 2020 has gone so far, this is shouldn’t come as a shock to anyone. An apocalyptic name for an apocalyptic baby.

70% sure that it’s pronounced Allen”, but Business Insider did some linguistic analysis and reckons that “Ecks Ash A minus 12” is our best bet. The addition of lil X Æ A-12 to the Musk family tree makes Elon a father of six, and Grimes a first-time mother.

From the time of Grimes’ announcement to the birth, this pregnancy has been quite the rollercoaster for us all. Muskamillion dropped his first – and hopefully last – track Don’t Doubt Yer Vibe; Grimes announced that she had to START eating vegetables for the baby; Elon went on many Twitter rampages. Chaotic times these are.

We will just have to wait and see how the multi-millionaire, alien, electro-pop creation that is X Æ A-12 will dominate the world. He may also just become an accountant.

Taking to Twitter, Grimes has now offered some explanation for the name:

Make of that what you will.
