Introducing Elroy 4.0

To cast aside the simulated sanctuary of the corporate kingdom takes a bit of audacity, a sprinkle of nuttiness and a whole sack of balls. Ross Bird did just that when he kicked down the chimeral ladder and headed out to spin out his own beats under the name of Elroy 4.0.

Since then, the Brisbane man has been chiseling out a sweet spot for himself, playing a number of live shows and supporting live acts of big-wigs such as Lapalux, Onra and Mount Kimbie, to name just a few. His brand of experimental electronica is loaded with a mix of atmospheric rhythms, glossy vocals and cosmic sounds. Organic is a satisfying descriptive word that can be assigned to his music.

His debut L.P. Pursuit of Paradise (2013) contains 13 tracks, a few of which are collaborations. One track even features The Kite String Tangle. The mood of the L.P. moves from chillout to bass heavy groovy sounds, so be prepared to shift gears. However, even though the spectrum of offered sound is varied, as one track slides into the other the other, the L.P still manages to project an elegant cohesiveness.

Not Too Distant begins with some light guitar plucking over which the polished vocals of Luke Mansini glide. Then there’s some deep base action which morphs the sound into an upbeat bouncy dance track. On the other hand, The Lighthouse has a slow relaxed vibe that distils sounds from the environment. A super-solid super-dopey track.

Conclusion? Elroy 4.0 is most definitely investment worthy.
