Do you find yourself reaching for that snooze button every morning? Is “Five more minutes” a common phrase you find yourself saying? Or maybe you’re one of those
freaks healthy people who bounce out bed for that 6am run. Is it their iron will? An effective alarm clock that slaps the sleep out of you? Or maybe it’s a handful of gun tunes that gets their motor running. That’s what works for Melbourne outfit Halcyon Drive. The band have recently released their single Reset along with a killer video that will resonate with anyone who needs that little extra something to get their head off the pillow instead of monkeying around.
The two-piece have had a hell of a year. They released their debut EP Cruel Kids, toured across the country, notably with Denmark’s Mew on their inaugural Australian tour and have now marked a welcome change of pace in their sound with Reset. If you’re digging their new tune, or their old tunes for that matter, then be sure to catch the band in the flesh when they play NYE on the Hill. Given that the video for Reset revolves around that need to find motivation to get out of bed, we asked the band to come up with 8 songs are guaranteed to get even a Stoner Sloth out from under the doona.
