JBL have just released the latest in their portable Bluetooth speaker line, the JBL Pulse 4. Building upon their previous models, the speaker offers crisp audio with epic bass frequencies.
Perhaps most enticing though is the psychedelic light show offered in the form of an interior LED panel, which syncs with the speaker’s audio – the perfect audio/visual addition to any party.
JBL have just released the latest in their portable Bluetooth line, Pulse 4, a speaker with a stunning light show and one hell of a sonic punch.
Slightly heavier than your typical portable speaker, it has a rounded shape, measuring about 21 cm tall and 10 cm wide. It’s available in black and white models, and has a battery life of 12 hours.
The speaker also has an IPX7 rating, meaning it can be submerged in water up to a metre deep, perfect for use by the pool on hot summer nights and days.
Connection to the Pulse 4 is achieved through Bluetooth pairing. A PartyBoost button allows you to connect the speaker to another Pulse 4, creating a stereo pair, or else up to 100 other Pulse 4s for a surround sound experience.
For a mono speaker, the Pulse 4 has excellent audio, with a 360-degree speaker arrangement projecting sound in every direction. Expect impressive bass depth and a great high-mid presence with tasteful sculpting and even some sub-bass.
However, the star of the show is definitely the LED panel, which offers a high-resolution, 360-degree light show. Watch as a combination of neon and pastel colours merge in different patterns, syncing with the audio being played by the speaker.
If you shake the speaker, you can switch colour palettes, and if you press the Light button, you can switch between the various patterns. You can also control the lights through the JBL Connect app on your own device.
The Pulse 4 is available for about $300 AUD and will start shipping around November 20. For more info head over to the JBL website.
