When JET announced they’d be reuniting and touring the country in celebration of the 15th anniversary of their debut album Get Born, tears of joy ran down the faces of rock n’ roll lovers all across the nation.
However, when the first show scheduled for the band’s hometown at the Forum Theatre sold out in less than 10 minutes, I could hear the heartbreak of those that missed out.
Luckily for them, a second Melbourne show has now been added. What a roller coaster.
Your prayers have been answered Melbourne! JET have announced a second show at The Forum Theatre as part of their upcoming Get Re-Born tour.
Get Born was the soundtrack to my youth, and truthfully it’s difficult to believe the album was released 15 years ago. It was brimming with straight hits. I’m talking Are You Gonna Be My Girl, Look What You’ve Done, Rollover DJ, and a whole lotta others.
With venues the size of The Forum selling out so quickly, it doesn’t appear that Australians have lost their lust for JET’s uncontrollable riffs and incredibly infectious hooks.
After calling it quits in 2012, JET reformed after receiving a personal request from Bruce Springsteen to support The E Street Band on their Australian tour in 2017. Cheers Bruce!
JET are now back in full force, and we’re all the better for it.
