Sleepy Joe Biden isn’t doing himself any favours after appearing to doze off at the COP26 climate summit.
Video circulated online of 78-year-old Joe Biden looking like he was falling asleep before a member of his staff whispered something in his ear.
Donald Trump labelled Biden “sleepy Joe Biden” during the 2020 US presidential campaign so naturally, Trump leapt at the opportunity to mock the American president once again.
Mr Trump is now suggesting that Biden’s inability to stay conscious at the summit means the president doesn’t believe global warming is an emergency.
“Even Biden couldn’t stand hearing so much about the Global Warming Hoax, the 7th biggest hoax in America,” Trump said in a statement on his official website before going on to list several other supposed “hoaxes”, such as his own election defeat.

It seems days are long at the climate summit in Glasgow as Biden isn’t the only one getting tired – Boris Johnson has also been seen nodding off in his seat.
One can’t help but notice the metaphor that these leaders aren’t paying much attention to the drastic measures required to save the planet from the condition their generation put it in.

Despite criticism aimed mainly at the global leaders, the climate summit has been incredibly productive so far. The video was taken not long before the US president and other world leaders headed home from the summit with an agreement to end deforestation by 2030.
The Biden administration also unveiled proposals to curtail methane emissions in the nation’s vast oil and gas infrastructure.
