Listen: Korby shares introspective latest single ‘Feel My Face’

Korby conceals his hurts with smoke and candour on Feel My Face, the Londoner’s second single of 2023.

Korby has mused on intoxication as an ultimate vice on Feel My Face, an introspective cut that serves as the London musician’s sophomore single.

The track arrives just weeks after the R&B crooner made his impressive debut with Wait For You, and continues his growth as one of the genre’s most promising vocals.

Feel My Face opens with airy keys and sparse yet simmering production. There’s a simplicity to the tune, which also deploys propulsive beats and sauntering bass lines, which allows Korby to rightfully forefront his vocals.

Buttery and smooth, the singer’s delivery flits between soft-spoken croons and punchier moments with finesse, as he reflects on the loose lips that sometimes arise from inebriation.

In between mentions of times where “the joy never lasted,” Korby sings candidly of smoking too much and spilling truths as a result.

“It’s talking about using intoxication as a vice and an excuse to let it all out,” Korby explained in a press statement. “It’s referencing how my ADHD means I can struggle to focus and can be irresponsible with my actions.”

“I’m just chasing that feeling of how good music pulls on my heart.” It’s a poignant message that feels both intimate and universal, with lyrics so personal you’d think they’re lifted from Korby’s own diary.

The single is accompanied by an official music video, which follows Korby as he visits kerbside diners and meanders through the suburban streets of London.

Feel My Face follows Wait For You as the second single to be released by Korby this year.

Both tracks precede what feels like a breakout moment for the singer-songwriter, so catch his new single Feel My Face below before it inevitably blows up even more.
