“live bed dances” and “amazing costumes” Kylie Minogue begins Las Vegas residency tonight

Aussie songstress Kylie Minogue delivers ‘Hold Onto Now’ kicking off her Las Vegas residency

Kylie Minogue is set to kick off her highly anticipated Las Vegas residency tonight, unveiling the Venetian Resort’s brand-new nightlife destination Voltaire.

Fans of the Melburnian chanteuse were provided with some details of the show’s contents in July, when Minogue revealed that “some versions of songs that have not been heard, like reinterpretations of songs” will feature in the production, as well as “live bed dances” and “amazing costumes”; “that’s the base and then we’ll see what surprises we can come up with”.

Heralded by Kylie Minogue’s exclusive residency, Voltaire is a non-stop entertainment venue that will host concerts, DJs, and burlesque performances, seating one thousand guests. More Than Just a Residency will run from November 3 2023 to May 4 2024.

Today has also seen Kylie Minogue announce the upcoming release of Extension (The Extended Mixes), comprising extended versions of all the tracks from her sixteenth studio album Tension in the true spirit of dance music.

The announcement was made in conjunction with the single release of fan-favourite “Hold On to Now”, which features its extended counterpart as the b-side.

A stomping whirlwind of bubbly synths and choral sidechains, the wistful “Hold On to Now (Extended Mix)” is out now on streaming, and available for purchase as a CD single and cassette.

Extension (The Extended Mixes) will be released on December 8 under Liberator Music / BMG, and is available for preorder.

In the wake of the impressive success of Tension, Kylie Minogue’s status as an all-time pop icon has been cemented indisputably.

Having headlined Sydney WorldPride, been nominated for four of the upcoming ARIA awards, and made UK chart history with “Padam Padam”, the opening of her Las Vegas residency is yet another constituent in Minogue’s string of achievements this calendar year.
