Lana Del Rey concocts a Season of the Witch cover for new horror film

Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming film Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark is set to feature some very special music from the wonderful Lana Del Rey.

The film will feature Lana Del’ Rey’s new cover of Donovan’s 1966 folk-rock hit Season of the Witch.

A snippet of the Lana Del Rey cover can be heard in the film’s latest trailer. But fans will have to wait until the movie’s theatrical release this Friday to listen to the song in full.

The song seems to bring del Toro’s dark imagination to life, perfectly complimenting the twisted imagery of the trailer, getting fans prepared for what is set to be one of the creepiest films this year.

Speaking about Del Rey, the director shared:

“I have admired ‘Lana’s music for a while now and felt in my gut that she would run with Season of the Witch — that she would use her alchemy to transform it. She is a great artist and has been an amazing partner with us in this adventure. It is an honour for me to have met her.”

On top of the hype for the film, August 6th will see Del Rey will help honour del Toro at his Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremony on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles.

Lana Del Rey is proving unstoppable with her immense number of projects right now. She’s currently promoting her forthcoming album Norman Fucking Rockwell and soon embarking on the first leg of her North American tour.
