Listen Out 2023: Who to catch at the iconic dance music festival

A decade on from it’s seismic debut in 2013, Listen Out has stunned us with another iconic line-up.

Listen Out may have outdone themselves with a line-up so packed with legends you’ll be afraid to take a bathroom break. International stars will be touching down to deliver more EDM bangers than we know what to do with, and is looking like the kind of event people will be talking about for years to come.

We have narrowed down a shortlist of who we’re particularly hyped to see at the legendary electronic music festival, but check out the full line-up for a comprehensive overview of what to expect!

Lil Uzi Vert

Lil Uzi Vert

Australia hasn’t seen the north Philly rapper in 5 years, so needless to say that we are hugely anticipating a killer show from Lil Uzi Vert.  It’s the artists ability to weave hard-hitting subject matter into an anthemic release that has really resonated with audiences across the world, tracks like ‘XO Tour Llif3’ that tap courageously into those emotions. The Grammy nominated artist has been shattering records with his genre diversity and creative approach, and we’re more than keen to see what he brings to his set.

Ice Spice

Ice Spice

Munchies across the country are celebrating from the news that rising rap sensation Ice Spice is making her Australian debut at Listen Out. The break out star has been kicking goals with her impressive collaborations. Ice Spice brings a candidness to her lyricism that makes you feel like you’re listening in on eloquently composed voicemail roast, her wit flowing effortlessly with baddie energy. Anyone who has Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift, and PinkPantheress on speed dial is someone you don’t want to miss.

Skrillex

Skrillex

We don’t need to tell you this, but Skrillex stands above as possibly electronic music history most iconic name, and catching his set for Listen Out is an obvious necessity for anyone who claims to be EDM fan. The DJ is known to radiate with good vibes, often being hailed as the best of any line-up he is apart of. His performance ability and transition intuition is both creative and exciting, and makes for an experience that even casual EDM fans will never forget.

Mallrat

Mallrat

Our favourite Aussie pop princess Mallrat is gracing the stage with her eclectic energy and dreamy vocals at Listen Out, where you can be sure to catch tunes from her glittering debut album Butterfly Blue. The indie-pop star has showcased an innate ability to write with sincerity whether it be synth-lush and layered, or a restrained indie rock soundscape.

jpegmafia

JPEGMAFIA

Boundary breaking musical nihilist JPEGMAFIA has charmed audiences with his dark satire and unexpected approach. His music soundtracks the dull pessimistic absurdism that the younger generation are in constant balance with, and while Peggy’s stage energy is known for riling up an animalistic need to yell and mosh, the crowd is known to stay respectful which is a testament to the kind of community the artist has been able to cultivate.

VV Pete

Vv Pete

Western Sydney is being fabulously represented at Listen Out by an artist who has been making massive waves in the industry, so be sure to check out the awe-inspiring up-and-comer Vv Pete. Known for a distinctly unapologetic stylishness, Vv Pete has been bringing the heat with her recent supports for Jay1 and Denzel Curry on their national tours. The explosive new artist has a tendency to completely captivate her audience with witty rap hooks and heavy club beats, you’ll want to see her before she inevitably blows up.
