Violent Soho have released their second track Viceroy from their highly anticipated third album WACO.
The tune was only finalised during the band’s final pre-production session for the album, which was recorded and mixed over the past eight months with Bryce Moorhead at Brisbane’s The Shed studios. Viceroy follows the album’s first cut, Like Soda, which came in at number 15 in the triple J Hottest 100.
Following 2013’s album Hungry Ghost, WACO takes it title from a Texas city where a siege on the Branch David’s religious sect in 1993 turned into a shoot out with the FBI, resulting in a massacre.
On the upcoming release, frontman Luke Boredam explained in a statement “Hungry Ghost dealt with the spiritual skeleton we’ve become from this spoon-fed reality, WACO is more about control and illusion: what the skeleton is being fed.”
WACO is set for release on March 18.
