Meet Robert Jeffery, the Coffs Harbour songwriter doing the classics proud

Robert Jeffery is a singer/songwriter from Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, who recently came into the music world with his debut single Don’t Give Them Any Reaction. More recently he’s revealed This Time, a sun-drenched pop rock tune inspired by The Beach Boys.

This is coastal music through and through; guitars that chug like the swell, a bright disposition, and lyrics which sound like they’re ringing across glassy salt water.

Introducing Robert Jeffery, a brand new voice from coastal New South Wales. Fans of The Beatles or The Beach Boys, this one’s for you.

Speaking about his more recent tune This Time, Jeffery shared:

“Sometimes there is something or someone in your life who you just cannot get out of your mind. It may be because you admire them or it could be because you despise them. Either way, they are riding your train of thought without a ticket and you can’t kick them off.”

Fittingly, this is a track that’ll stick in your head just as furiously as a new love, an old enemy, or a memory you can’t shake. The chorus bleeds sunshine and the verses are premium windows-open driving material. A perfect tune for days at the beach, kicking the feet up in a hammock, or for when you just need a pick-me-up.

Jeffery has been working out of a home studio so far, jumping over to Valleysound Studios with producer Pete Dyball (Kasey Chambers) in short bursts when he has demos ready to fly. He doesn’t have any live shows on the calendar yet, but watch out – he’s currently putting together a band together to gig around his local area.

For now you’ll have to settle with this single and a nice pair of headphones. Which, if we’re honest, sounds pretty damn good.
