PREMIERE: New Zealand psych rockers STARR deliver their mind-melting new single So High

Auckland-based psych-rock trio STARR have today released the clip for their new single So High, and it’s a mind-melting masterpiece. The clip is a kaleidoscope of hallucinatory visuals, and the track itself delivers an all-consuming crescendo that leaves listeners too involved to turn away.

STARR have helped prove that, for such a small country, the musical talent that is seeping out of New Zealand’s underground is limitless.

So High is an exciting look at what’s to come for the band, who have been cooking up psychedelic sensations in a factory in West Auckland. Their tracks have been expertly captured in the studio by veteran producer Jol Mulholland.

Throughout the new video, the band stomp through a crunching concoction of 60’s style psychedelia and bone-rattling rock n’ roll to deliver a sound that’s uniquely their own.

Collectively, the members of STARR have shared stages with Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Datsuns, Head Like A Hole & toured Europe with Australian psych outfit Spirit Valley.

Further singles will be coming from STARR in early 2019, followed by an album dropping mid-year. Until then, catch the band live on the RACING Album Release Tour on the tour dates below:

Nov 22 – The Cook, Dunedin
Nov 23 – Yonder, Queenstown (FREE SHOW)
