PJ Harvey, the renowned alternative rock legend, has announced her long-awaited return to the music world with her latest album, “I Inside the Old Year Dying”. This marks her first new material since her 2016 release, “The Hope Six Demolition Project”, and fans are buzzing with anticipation.
In a statement issued with the album announcement, Harvey mentioned that she spent several years fine-tuning the songs for “I Inside the Old Year Dying”, stating, “After many years of work I am very happy to release this collection of new songs. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Harvey mentioned being inspired by “soundtrack writers” such as Jonny Greenwood, Mica Levi, Hildur Guðnadóttir, and Ryuichi Sakamoto, as well as Thom Yorke’s work with The Smile, Anna von Hausswolff’s “All Thoughts Fly”, and Bob Dylan’s 2020 effort “Rough and Rowdy Ways”.
While there is no word on any collaborators on the album, fans can mark their calendars for the release of “I Inside the Old Year Dying” on July 7th, 2023.
