PREMIERE: Andrew Samuel pays respects to glorious late-night curry in new video

Sydney folk-man Andrew Samuel has dropped a video that makes me want to eat curry. Maybe I’ll go out and grab nice plate of rogan josh later tonight, but right now it’s important we all bask in the warm glow that is his latest video, New India Times.

Andrew Samuel is an inner-west local with a penchant for writing down to earth folk songs that truck along beautifully, harnessing simplistic guitar work and striking vocals.

With a voice this loud, clear and deep, it doesn’t surprise me he has so much company while he dines at one of Enmore’s finest eateries.

On New India Times, Andrew Samuel makes use of a classic video convention with a humble Enmore twist. He sits as people come and go, just like our thoughts do as we listen to his stirring voice.

New India Times grabs and holds you from the moment Samuel’s voice swoops down over the tight rhythm section. The guitar strums away something pretty along with that classic hammering we know and love. Samuel is a true folk poet.

I’m gonna head up to grab a curry now if you don’t mind, but you should really give this track a listen. Here’s hoping the restaurant paid him for the business this clip will surely bring.

New India Times comes from Andrew Samuel’s upcoming second EP Enmore Road, set to be released mid-2018. Until then, try not to stalk this guy down while he’s enjoying dinner.
