PREMIERE: Caramel’s new split single Kinkakuji is a dream you’ll never want to wake up from

Caramel, the new dream-pop project of  Brisbane’s Joel Devita and Michael Pearse, are brimming with gauzy and surreal psychedelia on their latest 10″ split single Kinkakuji.

Over the course of its three song tracklist, the release will guide you through dreamlike scenes, gaudy beat work and absolute tranquillity.

Brisbane duo Caramel’s latest offering Kinkakuji will leave you floating through strange, hallucinatory states of bliss.

Our first taste of the split, Under The Water, was dropped late December last year. The song is a woozy melting pot of euphoric synths and lush vocals that develop into an incredibly infectious groove.

With the official release coming tomorrow, today we’ve been treated to two new tracks; Kinkakuji, an introspective and synth driven song boasting an irresistible bass line, as well as Saturn Holiday, the wonderfully warped interlude between the two main singles.

Keeping the DIY spirit well and truly alive, Devita and Pearse recorded, mixed and engineered the entire project themselves from their home studio in Brisbane, adding an extra layer of charm to the already addictive tracks.

On top of that, the Brissy boys even independently fronted the costs of producing a limited run of physical 10″ records, that you can pre-order as of today.

For now, treat yourself to the hazy and idyllic sounds of Caramel’s Kinkakuji above.
