PREMIERE: Hey Baby are jetting towards the summer on their video for ‘Love And Drugs’

Love and drugs can fuck up your life. But they can also be a lot of fun. So fuck it, right?

Brisbane-based outfit Hey Baby create music for those who spend every day screaming that mantra: fuck it. Their music is charmingly careless, a little reckless, and endlessly fun. Their tunes are anthems for summers spent well. So it’s fitting that today, only days away from the beginning of our next summer, the band have shared a new video for their single Love And Drugs.

On their new video for Love And Drugs, Brisbane-based band Hey Baby show that exultation and turmoil are two sides of the same coin.

This new track doesn’t waste any time exchanging pleasantries. It comes bursting out of the gate, full throttle. After a few drum-stick clicks, scuzzy layers guitars and infectious drum beats explode into existence. Love And Drugs tells the story of a dysfunctional romance, complete with all the memories that come along with such a relationship—good and bad.

The track’s new video is the perfect visual accompaniment. It sees the guts of a couple’s relationship. They fight, they get back together; there are good times, there are not so good times. But as Hey Baby are well aware, all truly fun experiences run the risk of some sort of turmoil. Namely, love and drugs.

This is the latest in a string of consistently great releases from Hey Baby, and judging by the quality of everything we’ve seen and heard so far, I think we’ve store for plenty more great material.

In the meantime, do yourself a favour and watch the new video above.
