“Because my hair — I don’t know about you, but it has to be perfect. Perfect.” This is the reasoning US President Donald Trump gave for rolling back regulations on shower water pressure.
The saga all began during a July speech given by Trump that decried showerhead, tap, and dishwasher water pressure restrictions. As a result, the US Department of Energy are now working to change these regulations. Fun fact: these restrictions are only in place because three US states are drought-stricken.

For a little bit of background on the restrictions; a 1992 Congress ruling limits showerhead waterflow to 2.5 gallons per minute in response to severe cases of water shortage. As of August 2020, Nevada, New Mexico, and Colorado are all currently in a state of drought.
Andrew DeLaski of the Appliance Standards Awareness Project said the proposal was “silly” and that the nation had much bigger things to worry about. “If the president needs help finding a good shower, we can point him to some great consumer websites that help you identify a good showerhead that provides a dense soak and a good shower,” he told press.
