It seems Robert Plant and David Gilmour are set to be our new favourite podcasters. The former Led Zeppelin frontman Plant is set to release his podcast Digging Deep next month.
The episodes will be a reflection on the people, places and moments that have inspired him, not only during his solo career but also with Led Zeppelin.
In an unlikely event, Robert Plant and David Gilmour are among the latest to announce their own podcast series.
Digging Deep will “delve into his back catalogue to revisit a track from this remarkable history to tell stories of inspiration, collaboration and intervention.”
During the trailer Plant announces a promising playlist: “I’m gonna be picking out songs from here and there along the way, mixing constant shifts in sound and intention, men and women who encouraged and enlightened.”
Former Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour’s podcast, however, is driven by different intentions. Earlier this year, Gilmour announced he’d be putting 120 of his guitars up for auction to raise funds for his charitable foundation. In The David Gilmour Podcast he will be promoting the fundraiser by releasing three episodes, each about one of the iconic guitars up for grabs.
These include the Black Strat, the Martin Acoustic, and the final episode in the series is dedicated to his White Strat. There’s no doubt these instruments will provoke plentiful stories for our listening.
Digging Deep will be released on June 3rd
The David Gilmour Podcast will be available on May 31st.
