Star Wars comic ‘Dr Aphra’ to be TV series on Disney+ in 2020

Can you really have too much of a good thing? I guess what I’m saying is, can we really consume more intergalactic, Jedi fighting, dark side beating goodness? Can we really consume even more Star Wars? Damn straight.

Much like The Mandalorian on Disney+, the secrecy behind the proposed new series surrounding Doctor Aphra may has been in the works for longer then we all thought.

2020 will most definitely be another huge year for Star Wars fans around the globe with more binge worthy content coming to Disney+.

The ever-impressive world of Disney, and more importantly one of its more lucrative subsidiaries Lucasfilm, really flexes its power with CIA level secrecy. I’d argue it’s what makes their movies and series, so impressive and impactful, the uninterrupted element of surprise.

Well known Star Wars leaker Jason Ward spoke to Inverse recently and mentioned: “I’m hearing it’s a Lucasfilm-Marvel venture with both companies teaming up to bring a Star Wars show to the small screen”.

Can you imagine? Two of the highest-grossing and most successful movie franchises teaming up together. That being said, it will be interesting to see where their focus lies. On the story or cinematic experience, judging from previous marvel productions the latter may be more likely.

The new series is said to be based on the story of Doctor Aphra, and according to Wookieepedia (no, I’m not kidding), her story is set around Star Wars Episodes IV and V era. Whatever happens, I’m sure we can all agree that we want more.

Here’s to feeding the addiction and may the force be with you!
