This is not a drill: SZA is bringing her ‘SOS’ tour to Australia this year

A mere days after collecting two trophies at the Grammys, acclaimed singer-songwriter SZA has announced an imminent Australian tour.

Launched in support of her beloved sophomore 2022 album SOS, the run shows throughout April will mark SZA’s first trip Down Under since 2019, when she performed as part of that year’s Splendour In The Grass.

The Australasian jaunt kicks off with two dates at Auckland’s Spark Arena on April 15 and 16, before hitting Queensland shores at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on April 19.

From there, SZA will perform two shows in both Sydney and Melbourne, taking to the former city’s Qudos Bank Arena on April 23 and 24. The R&b crooner concludes her Australian tour with back-to-back shows at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena (April 29 and 30).

Live Nation presale tickets will be available tomorrow (February 9) from 2pm, with general on sale accessible on Monday, February 12 at the same time. Find more touring and ticketing information for the SOS jaunt here

Aussie fans will catch SZA at the height of her fame, following the runaway success of SOS.

The sprawling, 23-track album made SZA the most-nominated artist at this year’s Grammys, earning the singer her first-ever number one hit in Australia with lead single Kill Bill.

The album, a follow-up to SZA’s now-cult classic debut Ctrl (2017), features the likes of Phoebe Bridgers, Travis Scott and Don Toliver.

Last year, SZA teased a deluxe version of SOS, featuring ten additional songs and titled Lana. While the singer initially announced a release date for last September, the project never materialised.

This week, SZA told The Hollywood Reporter that discussing Lana would be a “disservice,” since the project is still “shaping itself [and could] possibly change the trajectory of what it could be.”
