A Decade in the Making: NYE on the Hill 2023 Anniversary has rolled in, and guess what? It’s officially sold out!
You snooze you lose, no surprises there. The lineup’s a knockout, and the festival vibe is off the charts. So, let’s take a trip down memory lane and relive some of the highlights from the past ten years of this incredible festival.
This shindig isn’t just about the music – it’s about killer views, epic sunsets, cool bars, grub that hits the spot, and art installations that’ll blow your mind. Check out the highlights below and get ready to dive into a decade of NYE on the Hill.
2013 – Loon Lake’s ‘Super Hero’ set and Sam’s crowd-surfing Batman moment.
2014 – The Debut of the Hills’ Hollywood sign and numerous members of the crowd using it as a giant scrabble board to make a bunch of hilarious phrases much to the entire Hill’s delight.
2015 – The birth of the Edge of The Word Bar. A Bar at the very end of the festival campground that sits on the edge of a cliff overlooking a stunning valley.
2016 – Tash Sultana’s second performance on the Hill (having played The Hills Are Alive a year earlier) in the midst of blowing up all over the world.
2017 – The Entire lineup! So many of these acts blew-up nationally and internationally soon after this. The Teskey Brothers, Dean Lewis, Jordan Rakei, Ball Park Music, Angie McMahon, Gretta Ray and more. Ah yes, and Regurgitator played too. One of all time favorite bands. A Dream come true!
2018 – Another incredible sunset. For those that don’t, at every event everyone on the hill gathers at Sunset Point to watch the final sunset of the year and the vibe is something really special. Also worth noting Tones And I played her first ever festival at NYE on the Hill this year.
2019 – The first time costumes really became a big thing on the hill! So many creative legends. This trend now continues up to the present day. Special shout out to this crew who have taken out the prize multiple years.
2021 – The Covid year. What a crazy time. Within 24 hours of the show starting we had to replace 8 artists (including two headliners!) due to members testing positive to Covid 19. Somehow we did it (special shout out to Skeggs and Client Liaison for somehow jumping on board at such late notice!) and it ended up being one of the biggest celebrations on the Hill we’ve ever had.
2022 – The entire crowd’s involvement in Welcome To Country ceremony/performance led by Boon Wurrung traditional custodians.
The amazing good-vibing people who make the Hill everything it is.
