Bad news with a silver lining: The Avalanches have postponed all international tour dates, but Australians are still in the clear

The Avalanches recently announced that they have been forced to call off any overseas tour dates due to medical issues.

For Australians looking forward to the band’s long-awaited live return at Splendour in the Grass next week, fear not. That is the one show this group isn’t going to miss.

Avalanches

After a sixteen year hiatus, The Avalanches have recently released their sophomore album Wildflower. Now they have been forced to postpone all international shows due to medical difficulties.

The awful news was revealed via a post on the band’s Facebook. It can be heartbreaking to hear that you won’t be seeing a band play live, but The Avalanches seems assured that replacement dates and even extra shows are on their way.

“Unfortunately due to a medical condition requiring treatment in Australia, Tony has been advised against international travel for the next few months”

“Thanks to everyone worldwide who has made Wildflower such a success, and stay tuned for rescheduled and new live dates soon.”

Of course, there is a silver lining for Splendour in the Grass ticket holders, who can still look forward to the band’s hour-long set this Friday.

“Preparations for our live show at Splendour are going well”
