Melbourne trio The Basics have released the video for their latest single Time Poor, a scathing social commentary on attitudes towards equality, the environment and racism in Australia.
The songs takes to task the notion of being ‘time poor’ and social apathy towards devoting time to big issues. Drawing footage from cartoons from the 20th Century, the video for Time Poor was put together by Queensland native Stephen Scott. Time Poor is the third single from The Basics’ new album The Age of Entitlement.
Fun bit of trivia for you, when the single was first aired on ABC Radio National last year columnist Andrew Bolt lodged a formal complaint with the station, because y’know, he’s Andrew Bolt.
So, apparently Andrew Bolt has complained to the ABC about our new song “Time Poor” – https://t.co/FY0bMAokZA
