The Vivid Sydney 2018 program has been announced – and we’ve got a surprise for you

Sydney’s yearly light, music and art festival Vivid has unveiled its full program for 2018. Come May, the city will be awash with colour, not to mention appearances from some of the world’s most formidable musicians.

Oh and this time, we’re having a party too.

Vivid Sydney has returned in 2018 featuring Solange, Ice Cube, St. Vincent, Total Control, and a score of others. Plus, a special event from yours truly.

Solange will be playing a set of four dates at the Sydney Opera House, marking her only Australian shows. N.W.A. export Ice Cube will be playing three dates at the same venue, and St. Vincent will be playing a single show at Carriageworks. Cat Power and The Brian Jonestown Massacre are also booked in for shows.

A special rendition of Brian Eno’s Ambient 1: Music For Airports will be performed by Alaska Orchestra, and the Opera House will host a ‘Studio Party’ celebrating the music of Burial on vinyl.

From the home front Middle Kids, No Mono, WAAX, Total Control, Neil Finn, Vera Blue, and much more will be making appearances throughout the festival.

Shining Bird will be making their first appearance of 2018 at the Happy Mag Issue 8 Launch on June 18th, our very own Vivid closing party. They’ll be joined by Zeahorse, with plenty more acts to be announced. RSVP here.
