In a recent interview, Courtney Love admitted to talking with her former band members about a Hole reunion.
The reunion would come as a celebration of 25 years since their legendary second studio album, Live Through This, was released.
Courtney Love has confirmed Hole are talking about a reunion to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Live Through This.
“We are definitely talking about it”, Love confessed, “there’s nothing wrong with honouring your past, I’ve just kind of discovered that. If you don’t, people will rewrite history and you will become an inconvenient woman.”
Live Through This was written during Love’s pregnancy with Kurt Cobain and the album was released one week after his death. The alternative rock album was a critical success, went multi-platinum and was Spin, the Village Voice and Rolling Stone’s album of the year.
Hole officially disbanded in 2002, however the original lineup of Love, Schemel, Eric Erlandson, and Melissa Auf der Maur have not played a show since 1998. This excludes the last time they played in 2012 for a two-song set at an afterparty for the Schemel documentary Hit So Hard.
Love has previously teased that the band’s reunion was already underway and new music was coming back in 2014. This never eventuated. Who knows if she’s for real this time, but we’ve got our fingers crossed.
