Vance Joy has a lot to celebrate, nominated for five awards at this year’s Arias, he has also revealed some wedding plans.
Australian singer-songwriter Vance Joy has revealed that he is in the midst of planning his forthcoming wedding to Spanish art director, Selen Us. ‘We are still planning it but it shouldn’t be too far away.’
The Melbourne-based singer opened up recently about his long-distance relationship with Selen, last year, after a particularly difficult lockdown.
Chatting with the Herald Sun, Joy explained that that his recent single, Missing Piece was dedicated to Selen. “I started writing it in Melbourne in lockdown. A lot of people were separated from their partners. In other songs I’ve talked about going home and that feeling of wanting to see someone.
I’m in a happy place. There’s a real comfort in knowing you have a really good thing and it’s not going anywhere.
What you have isn’t just for right now, it’s a long-term thing. Little bumps ain’t nothing. The distance is a challenge, but it’s all good.’”
Vance, who has been nominated for five Aria Awards, Song of the Year, Best Solo Artist, Best Adult Contemporary Album, Best Pop Release, and Best Video, is set to lead the star-studded lineup at the 2022 ARIA Awards today, which also includes performers Amyl and The Sniffers, Rufus Du Sol, Baker Boys and May-A.
